English Heritage, the National Trust and Historic Environment Scotland each publish their own list of their own properties; nobody publishes the complete one — every operator, every nation, one roll.
405 castles are listed as of 2026-07-14. Each entry combines structural facts (operator, condition, access) with ratings and review data pulled from Google, and a short editorial note written and fact-checked against that review data — not copied from a brochure.
Castles change hands, close for conservation, and adjust their opening hours more often than any directory can track in real time. If something here is wrong, out of date, or a castle is missing entirely, corrections are always welcome.
