There's very little of Dunseverick Castle left - a fragment of gatehouse on a promontory along the Causeway Coast - and reviewers are candid that the "castle" itself is a small ruin, not a destination on its own. The coastal walking around it is the reason people keep visiting.
Worth the trip
The coastal path in either direction from the ruin - reviewers rate the walk and the views over the castle remains themselves.
Before you go
Go in expecting a small ruin and a genuinely good walk rather than a substantial castle - it works well as a stop on the wider Giant's Causeway coastal route. There's a free car park just off the main road.
Reviewers consistently point out that almost nothing remains of the castle itself, several describing it as more of a small ruin than a proper structure, but they're unanimous that the surrounding coastal scenery and walking route (often part of the Giant's Causeway hike) make it well worth the stop.
